Highlights from the second episode of Bank of Hollywood.
E! posted the casting tapes from episode two:

The episode guide says this week’s show will feature extreme dancers, a woman who wants a car even though she hasn’t passed her driving test, and a determined mom of 50 kids.
The Orange County Register writes that the judges initially thought they’d misheard how many kids Ann Belles has adopted:
“You said you’ve adopted 15 special needs…?” asks panelist Sean Patterson, president of Wilhelmina Models, after Belles is introduced.
“Fifty — 5-0,” Belles corrects him as she explains that she’s asking for money for a new wheelchair-accessible minivan to help get her 13 sons who use wheelchairs to their school and social events.

Last week’s premiere received good reviews and lots of positive feedback via twitter, and it sounds like episode two will be just as good! Ryan tweeted on Saturday to say that they give away $145,625 on this week’s show:
RyanSeacrest: monday night on “bank of hollywood”…we are give away $145,625 Every person deserves it. 9p on E! You must see these stories! Really cool
Bank of Hollywood: Dancers, Determination and a Driving Disaster first airs Monday 21st December on E! at 9/8c.

The first episode of Bank of Hollywood aired on E! in the US this week, and reviews so far seem to be very positive. Some of the comments found on twitter:
Here’s a clip from the first show where a ten-year-old tap dancer tries to impress the judges to fund his trip to the Tap Olympics.
Sounds like the show works really well — hopefully we’ll get to watch it in the UK soon! We can have a look at this week’s contestants as E! has posted video of the casting tapes. The video includes a guy who wants $17,140 for the Miss Gay USofA at Large pageant, a woman asking for $62,995 for her daughter’s commercial pilot training, a kid who needs $8,000 to represent the US in the Tap Olympics, a couple with an odd casting pitch (watch it, you know you want to…) who want $60,000 to get married, a guy who asks for $7,500 to take his mom somewhere fun, a balloon guy (complete with balloon tattoos!) who asks for $12,500 to travel around children’s hospitals with his balloons, a 14 year old boy who wants $125,000 for a pool so he can learn to walk again, and a woman who needs $84,000 to follow Madonna on tour for a year.
According to examiner.com, the balloon guy won $15,000 and kept the secret for seven weeks by telling people that they’d filmed both a winning and a losing shot. TV Eye has a review that includes information about how it went for some of the other contestants: Raiding ‘Bank of Hollywood’
E! is running a Bank of Hollywood Gimme Bank Contest for viewers in the US with the chance to win $10,000 if you can convince the judges to part with their cash in a short video: The Bank of Hollywood millionaires have the big bucks—do you have what it takes to get some?

More details are emerging about Bank of Hollywood, the new Ryan Seacrest Productions show for E!
Reuters reports that ordinary Americans pitch a proposal to a panel that includes Candy Spelling, Vanessa Rousso, Sean Patterson and Melody Thornton, and if the pitch is successful panelists give away their own money. Yahoo says the show is based on Fortune: Million Pound Giveaway and its first run will have 8 episodes, starting December 14th at 10pm.
Ryan is quoted saying:
The idea’s simple, we are giving away tons of money to everyday people to alleviate the stress of today’s climate and have fun.
hollywoodjunket.com has a more detailed report and photos from the set of the show, which they describe as a ‘game show that gives people the opportunity to fulfill their dreams’.
One-at-a-time, a different contestant enters the arena-like stage via a lighted tunnel walk-way to convince the panel to give them the requested amount of money from the “bank of Hollywood”. They must prove that their cause is notable, and will make a significant change in their lives for the better.
From the description in hollywoodjunket’s set report, there’s a mix of business start-ups, good causes and outlandish requests. They think the show will be an ‘audience-pleaser in this time of recession’ but think it needs to ‘waste less time with the crazies’. I have to be honest and say I’m quite looking forward to seeing ‘the crazies’!

There were reports and tweets yesterday about Ryan being present as Executive Producer for filming of a pilot episode of a new E! show called Bank of Hollywood.
The New York Post claims the show’s judges will be Sean Patterson, president of Wilhelmina Models, and Candy Spelling — they weren’t able to get confirmation of this from RSP.
A few people tweeted to say they were at the pilot:
Only1LadyShay: Awwww shit Ryan Seacrest just walked in!!! Exec Producer of this new pilot show “Bank of Hollywood”
Jessica_Luckey: i’m at the bank of hollywood with Ryan Seacrest, this show is intensee!! hurrah!
Liquess: @RyanSeacrest. At “bank of Hollywood” right now. It’s such a great show, I’m having so much fun!
Details are sketchy at the moment but it sounds as though contestants pitch a business idea they believe could make money to the judges with the aim of securing funding though we’ve not come across any information or speculation yet on the angle that makes this different to similar shows.
There has been some suggestion that this could be Chance repackaged. It seems there are similarities as both involve a contestant pitching for funding, but the premise of Chance seemed to be making dreams come true rather than funding ways to make money (though some dreams no doubt involve making money!)
Hopefully some information will be available soon.
