On Air with Ryan Seacrest 2009-02-16
Ryan took a call about promise rings after mixing them up with the purity rings that people like the Jonas Brothers wear. Classic line, “let’s not talk about the impossible. Let’s talk about the feasible”. I guess we know where Ryan stands on the purity ring issue and he really doesn’t like promise rings either! Ryan thinks that if a guy gives a girl a promise ring instead of an engagement ring, he’s just buying time and it says “I like you, I don’t want to lose you, but at the same time, I’m pretty sure I don’t want to marry you”.
In the sleaze was the Leona Lewis biography that she hadn’t written a word of … because it’s a picture book … and a face-off between a wizard and a vampire (Dan Radcliffe and Robert Pattinson). Dan thinks that Edward Cullen is sultry and says ‘go with the vampire because Potter has no game’. Ellen said that Kanye West has 450 pairs of shoes and a full-time shoe shiner and sorter to take an inventory.
Ryan asked Isaac Slade of The Fray about working at, and getting out of, Starbucks and getting their music picked up via MySpace and medical TV shows.
A caller complained that her friends were calling her anorexic after losing weight but Ryan said they were the best friends she could have because their jealousy would keep her motivated. Ryan said he’d rather have friends who notice things like weight loss and who deep down inside are jealous of something. Insecurities, much?!
