Dr Oz
Dr Oz answered questions from Ryan, Ellen and listeners, and gave a list of five important numbers to know to get a handle on your health: blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol, weight and waist measurement. Ryan wanted to know about cancer; are we born with it and does it lie dormant until it’s activated. Dr Oz said people aren’t born with it, but everyone probably has cancer cells in their body. Usually the immune system can recognise and deal with it, but sometimes it breaks down and that’s when cancer takes over. Risk factors include stress, age, lack of sleep, and poor diet.
Ellen had a question about the blue UV lights at nail salons. Dr Oz wasn’t sure if they cause cancer, but the salons are definitely a hygiene concern and he recommended taking your own equipment. They also discussed whooping cough, food supplements and how people who’ve lost their teeth can eat salad. Ryan also asked Oz about the secret of successful marriage: reinvent your relationship every seven years.
Katie Couric
Ryan talked to Katie about Stand Up To Cancer, which airs tonight on all the major television networks as well as some cable channels and online, different types of cancer, and reacting to people who are affected by cancer.

AnnaLynne talked about 90210 and her boyfriend Kellan Lutz and Ryan apparently thought she was far more interesting than her character in show. I haven’t watched the show, but she was definitely good value!
Ellen’s homework
The most important hobby for women is not men; it’s themselves. This sounds great until you hear the list, which as Ryan pointed out, was mostly about men anyway! Ryan’s radical advice was to be yourself.
CHOC
Ryan will be broadcasting from Radio Lollipop at CHOC on Monday and has plenty of things planned to brighten up the day for the kids. Ryan talked a little about the research he’s done and the benefits to kids of having healthy distractions.
VMAs speculation
Ryan and Ellen talked about the VMAs. Kanye West is performing and Taylor Swift just arrived at LAX. Although she’s not scheduled to be there, they talked about last year’s VMAs, Kanye’s tweets and apology, and speculated that they might have something planned.
