Chris Harrison sent Ryan a gift! Ryan recently called him out for wearing an outfit with badly clashing patterns … and Chris sent him the same time he was wearing! Ryan’s theory is that Chris’ wife is sabotaging him because he’s hanging out around pretty girls for work, so now they can go out together and no girls will hit on them.
Ryan said the tie isn’t really him, but Chris tweeted him to suggest he wears it on Idol” @chrisbharrison: hope you enjoyed the gift I sent over. Hard to know what to get the guy who has everything. You should wear it on Idol!

Ryan asked TI for some background about his movie, filming it before going to jail and the release being held back until he got out. They talked about music; he’s a prolific writer but in response to a question Ryan asked about acting, he said he could see himself more as a full time actor when he hits 40 because of the direction music is going, it’s getting younger. Ryan also asked about marriage and whether it’s changed him. He didn’t really want to talk about it, but gave a positive answer to Ryan’s question about whether it made him a better person.

James Cameron
There’s a new version of Avatar coming out in 3D only with 9 minutes more footage if the first one wasn’t quite enough for you. Ryan mentioned his Avatar style workout, and James talked about some work he’s doing with NASA to put a stereoscopic camera on the surface of Mars, which sounds really interesting!
Emmys Red Carpet
It’s the Emmys this weekend and yesterday Ryan was preparing, going through the list of nominees who will be walking the red carpet. He has flash cards so he can remember everything he needs to — with photographs if it’s someone he doesn’t know. Usually he remembers what he needs and if not he’ll make stuff up, but he has that there as back up. Some of the meeting was filmed:
