Shaq versus Ryan; Amy versus her bladder
Ryan needed to decide what he could challenge Shaq to, and he seemed to think his options are limited because he’s not good at anything. Amy suggested Finish the Lyric, which is clearly a genius suggestion, then a caller pointed out that Ryan does claim to have talent … with the ladies! Ryan’s selective memory defense mechanism started to kick in as he wondered which show she’s been listening to, then admitted to claiming to be good at kissing. Ryan joked about kissing Shaq, which didn’t meet with much opposition, but as it was a phone interview, they were back to Finish the Lyric.
Ryan went on to talk about bed bugs at CNN in New York. What a horrible topic! He spoke to Larry King about it later, and Larry pointed out that there aren’t any beds at the studios, though he shared Ryan’s concern. Larry wanted to take Ryan with him to New York in September, and this could spoil it. Ryan’s afraid of bed bugs and he’d read that they’ve got into other stores, Victoria’s Secrets pantie … Larry thought that might result in other problems.
Shaquille O’Neal
Shaq has a series Shaq versus so Ryan needed to decide what his challenge for Shaq would be. It could have been picking up the ladies (probably a good job he didn’t go with that as Ryan thought Shaq was seducing him just with his voice) or kissing, which Ryan claims to be good at (is Shaq cute? Just wondering…), but they went with Finish the Lyric, which Ryan is masterful at. Shaq missed the point a little and joined in, then came back with a song he didn’t actually know the lyrics to.
This has to be a candidate for the best video ever! Finish the Lyric on video — does it get any better than this?
Roger’s off to the premiere
Roger wants to go to the premiere of Piranha 3D, and he wants Ryan to find him a babysitter! The funniest part is when Ryan said he doesn’t like scary movies and Ellen replies that he does like babysitters.
Kim Kardashian and Jonathan Cheban
Kim and Jonathan were on to talk about The Spin Crowd, which Kim is producing. Ryan also asked Kim some of the uncomfortable questions she tweeted about being wary of, including about Ronaldo.
Naming Ceremony
I was invited to a baby naming of a close friend ...but the baby already has a name...I'm confused..what is a "baby naming".do I bring gift?
Ryan’s friend has a baby who’s around six months old and already answering to a perfectly good name, so he said he was a little confused to be invited to a naming ceremony and wanted to know what a naming ceremony is and whether he’d be expected to take a gift. Ryan asked a few different people before getting his friend on the phone to explain.
Howard Bragman
Howard is representing Stephen Slater, the guy who bailed from JetBlue, and Ryan asked him about the rumours of a reality show and the threat of legal action for his stunt. Howard said they were concerned about the prospect of criminal charges, but he is getting various offers from the media (which is where he comes in).
Do what?
Ellen grosses everyone out and Ryan has an unusual request …
Who’s getting some?
Ryan talked about some research he’d read that said iPhone users have more sex than Blackberry and Android users. Female iPhone users are getting more than male iPhone users, and when he did the math, Ryan realised something didn’t quite add up. Maybe that explains the sign in the shop window …
