On Air with Ryan Seacrest 2010-08-06

Jamie Oliver

Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution, which is produced by Ryan’s production company, is nominated for an Emmy. Unfortunately Jamie won’t make it over for the awards show under threat of having his bits chopped off — his wife will be 8 months pregnant at the time. Ryan and Jamie joked about Jamie’s children with Jamie initially saying he hadn’t had them all DNA tested and they did look a little like the postman and later saying that perhaps having his bits chopped off would be doing everyone a favour. Ellen must have agreed because she was already mentally roasting them …

Jamie also talked about the project he’s working on after winning the prestigious TED prize: openidea.com which you can find out about on Ryan’s website: Jamie Oliver Challenges You To Collaborate And Create [VIDEO]

Jamie’s Food Revolution petition has an amazing 611,000 signatures now. If you haven’t added yours yet, you can do so at www.jamieoliver.com

Hitting on a girl, Seacrest style

Photo: Ryan and his mom on mother’s day

Ryan took a call from a guy who’s interested in a hot girl who’s moved into his apartment building. After a little initial confusion of how he is and who he is (he’s the guy who’s looking forward to a boys’ night out!), Ryan told the caller this had happened to him too when he moved to LA: a hot girl moved in across from him, and Ryan went over … to borrow a wooden bowl to make a Caesar salad. Ryan said she was a little confused but thought it was funny, though Ryan was being half-serious because he really did want to make a Caesar salad! Giving him a little encouragement, Ryan told the caller it worked, but then admitted it didn’t last.

Ryan, Manny and Ellen talk technique

Ryan and Manny discussed the way to eat crawfish, then Ellen joined in, but Ryan wasn’t sure she was on the same topic …

Chris Harrison

Chris was on to talk about the Bachelor Pad, which starts next week, but first gave Ryan an update on Ali and Roberto from The Bachelorette. He said they were doing great and already talking about getting married. The guy who Ali turned down last is one of many candidates for the next Bachelor. The Bachelor Pad is a way of bringing back former contestants, something they wanted to do if they could do it without damaging the franchise. He described the contestants living in the same house, sharing a room and sleeping in bunk beds and Chris thinks it’ll be a hit from the start because people already know and love the contestants.

Katy Perry

Did you vote for Ryan in the Teen Choice Awards? If you didn’t it’s too late now because the votes are in! Katy will be hosting the Teen Choice Awards, so hopefully she’ll see Ryan pick up an award. Katy talked a little about hosting the show, which she’s excited about as it’s her first in the US. She talked a little about the show: she’ll be working with the Glee cast and singing her current single.
