On Air with Ryan Seacrest 2010-06-17

Josh Brolin

Ryan talked with Josh about Jonah Hex, a movie based on a comic book, though Josh seemed to have a little difficulty answering Ryan’s questions about his character’s history seriously. They also talked briefly about Wall Street 2, which sounds like it’s going to be a great movie, and whether there’ll be a sequel to The Goonies, which Josh was in 25 years ago. Josh said that he’d asked that question a while back, and it sounds as though when the right script comes along there will be a remake.

Coffee is back in Ryan’s life

Anyone who predicted it would never last, you were right! Ryan has let coffee back into his life.

Ryan’s plans for tonight’s game

Ryan talked about his plan for his broadcast of tonight’s game (from his den to his house). If you’re a chicken, don’t listen to this clip.

Carlos Bocanegra

Ryan was very excited to talk to Carlos Bocanegra in a hot-tub in South Africa. Sadly, there was no video and it was Carlos in the hot-tub anyway, so not really of much interest to us! In one of the interviews that makes us wonder how on earth people get the idea Ryan is gay, he asked probing questions about the hot-tub, who was in there with him … unfortunately for Ryan’s line of questioning it was guys not girls, but Ryan wasn’t deterred and continued to talk about the guys in the hot tub, and was even thinking about the music they might be listening to, after the call ended.

They talked a little about the football, soccer, fußball, whatever you want to call it, including the match against England and butterfingers the goalie. If you didn’t see the match, or aren’t following the World Cup, here’s the best recap I’ve come across:

Ryan also looked ahead to tomorrow’s match against Slovenia and talked about some of the requests different teams have made, the atmosphere in South Africa and the vuvuzelas. Team USA wants Internet, so Ryan said he needed to get Steve Balmer back on the phone after speaking to him eariler this week for a little help with Office 2010.

Al Roker

Al Roker was talking from Orlando where he’s preparing for The Today Show’s coverage of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter opening. Sounds awesome; I want to go Snape stalking get a butterbeer in Hogsmeade!

Ryan and Al also talked a little Bieber fever, Al said he wasn’t comparing him to Michael Jackson, but he was referring to Michael Jackson levels of hysteria … and that on the same show that Ryan said he understood how their parents felt when the Beatles split up because half the Jersey Shore cast wouldn’t be coming back!

More seriously, Al talked about his annual Lend a Hand charity fundraiser and a new animal rescue show, and discussed with Ryan how he had lost weight through detox, a Mediterranean diet and workout, and is now training for a marathon!

Dinner last night

Hot on the heels of Ryan’s tale of dinner at the same place as the first lady, on the same day as his run in with the Celtics, Ryan had another story to tell! Last night he was out at dinner with a group of friends and their wives/girlfriends and he didn’t have anything to say because they were all talking about babies. He took notes. But, he was also waiting for the right time to casually drop into the conversation that he’d been offered a ticket to the big Lakers game tonight, and therefore would have to cancel the viewing party he’d invited his friends to. Not an easy thing to drop, but who wouldn’t want to go to see the game live! Apparently though, Ryan wasn’t the first person to be offered that ticket, and one of his buddies had turned it down because he’d already accepted Ryan’s invitation. On the bright side, seems like the chicken’s ass is safe after all.

I missed some of the story because the stream kept dropping, but the best part about it is Ellen and Corrine when they’re telling Ryan opposite things like the opposing voices of his conscience.
