Casey James

Casey has two big gigs coming up: the American Idol tour and the pick your purse party with Ellen K. Ryan talked to Casey about his preparations for the tour, giving him some practical advice on securing the best sleeping area on the tour bus, and announced that tickets are available at $20 plus fees for the next 24 hours. Casey is also performing at the pick your purse party, and Ryan did an impressive job of packaging it, but ultimately it was two guys talking about purses!

Steve Ballmer

Ryan talked to Amy early in the show about scheduling problems, which led nicely into a discussion about Microsoft Office 2010, which just happens to be out today. Quelle coïncidence! They talked a little about getting the new Office, and whether it would solve all the problems, and Ryan said he wanted a guy to come in and show everyone how to use it. A little while later, Steve Ballmer was on the phone, and apparently very amused by the conversation, to tell Ryan about retrieving drunk email some of the new features in Office 2010.

Miley Cyrus

Miley called in to talk about her appearance at House of Blues on the 21st. Tickets will go on sale tomorrow.

A day in the life?

Ryan told a couple of great stories about his day yesterday. First he got a major diss from Celtics player Rasheed Wallace; Ryan related a funny story of going to the gym at the hotel where the Celtics are staying, getting in the elevator with them, and being ‘recognised’.

Wallace: Aren’t you the guy on TV?

Ryan: Yeah …

Wallace: You do that show, right?

Ryan: Yep. You watch?

Wallace: Hey guys, he hosts Starsearch!

Ouch! Ryan talked to some people who said the guy knew who Ryan was and was just trash talking him! Ryan should have put him in his place …

… or maybe not!

Later in the day he was having dinner in a restaurant and noticed security swarming in; he couldn’t find out at first who it was for, but it turned out he was eating at the same restaurant as Michelle Obama!

Ryan’s Roses

This week’s Rose’s call was made to a guy who has been dating a woman for a year but has lots of unexplained absences. He wanted to send the roses to his daughter … and that was the first time his girlfriend knew he even had a daughter.

Ryan and Ellen talked about first dates, with Ryan suggesting getting rid of the first date and skipping right forward to the third. Ryan doesn’t want any awkwardness, but Ellen just wanted Ryan to be himself.

That’s what I call a shout!
