Elliot was in Chile when the earthquake struck last weekend so Ryan asked him about his experience and how things are there now. Fascinating interview. It’s scary enough seeing what has happened to people on the news, and knowing that natural disasters can happen anywhere without any notice, but hearing someone who was there talk about it adds the context that makes it feel less like ‘something that happens to other people’.

Ryan asked Lindsey about the things she’d missed out on while focussing her life on training, working with her husband, claims that she’s favoured within the team, and whether she has an inner voice telling her how she’s doing while on a run. Ryan also told us that no two medals are alike … and no two water crystals are alike either (he’s just started reading ‘The Hidden Messages in Water’)

Shanna is the mother of Layla Grace, a 2-year-old with stage four neuroblastoma. Ryan asked how she is right now and how long she has left, and Shanna talked about neuroblastoma, including identifying the symptoms, and connecting with people via social networking.
“You can’t break down and cry all day because somebody has to take care of the sick baby.”
Such a difficult interview to listen to.
