On Air with Ryan Seacrest 2010-02-18
Danica Patrick
Sadly for Ryan, Danica is on the phone. Ryan’s a little disappointed she’s not in studio, but he understands that she’s married busy. First up, Ryan asked about a 12-car pile up that collected Danica last weekend in her NASCAR debut.
Ryan asked an interesting question: what’s the biggest difference between driving a NASCAR and an Indy Car. Danica said an Indy Car has a lot of downforce keeping the car on the ground and it gets really loaded up in the corners so if it slides, it usually snaps out, whereas a NASCAR slides around a lot more and doesn’t have the same level of grip, but as it doesn’t rely on wings for downforce, it’s possible to get up close and personal with the car in front.
After getting that out of the way, Ryan moves onto topics he sounded more comfortable with: does she wear make-up when she’s driving, and what’s the girliest thing she does. Danica likes to get pedicures. Ryan tries to tell her that as he gets pedicures too that’s not a particularly girly thing to do, but she’s clearly not convinced. Ryan pushed for something really girly so Danica told him she likes shopping and she gets her hair and make-up done. Ryan didn’t have anything to say to that!
Meagan Michaels
Ryan talked about how emotional last night’s American Idol was, and played a clip of Simon talking to Crystal Bowersox, before talking to Meagan about what’s happening next week. Ryan said he hadn’t seen his schedule yet! There’s a two hour show on Tuesday night with the girls’ performances, two hours on Wednesday with the guys’ performances, and a one hour show on Thursday. The theme will be top ten big hits but the contestants haven’t chosen their songs yet.
Giuliana Rancic
Ryan had Ellen read out a story from Mike Walker about how Ryan had raved about the accuracy of his item about E! diva Guiliana keeping Ryan waiting while she fiddled with her hair extensions, and Ryan telling her that her terrible dress had actually damaged TV cameras, costing the network six figures and knocking out the TV feed to Asia.
Ryan said to Giuliana: “the real headline here is, thank god I’m not you!” then Ryan brought Brian the engineer on again to make Giuliana believe that she’d caused all this damage, and more since as Brian said it’s now affecting the clocks in the studio. The anatomical clocks, as Ryan called them. Giuliana is holding firm in her love of the shiny, so between Bryan’s dead pixels, Ryan’s anatomical clocks, and the butterfly effect, we’re all doomed.
Lauren Conrad
Ryan congratulated Lauren on her second book going straight to the top of the bestsellers list. He thinks a strength of the books is the way they let people who are outside that world have an almost voyeuristic look in … then started talking about one of the characters in a way that made it sound as though the character is obviously based on Lauren or someone she knows.
Scott Disick
Part two of the Keeping up with the Kardashians season finale airs this Sunday, so Ryan had the man everyone loves to hate on to talk about being a father and getting along with the Kardashians … or not.
Future guests
Ryan, Ellen and Amy discuss whether to have a guest from The Bachelor …
