On Air with Ryan Seacrest 2010-01-29
Lamar Odom
Ryan asked Lamar about the Lakers game and whether he should say acknowledge Lamar at the game, and wanted to know if Lamar is ready for children. Lamar seemed pretty chilled about what goes down at the game, but said he’s always ready with regards to children. I think he meant that in both senses!
Jack Sussman
Jack gave Ryan a run down of the artists who will be performing at the Grammys this weekend, but said people have to tune in to find out who opens the show … but it will be talked about the next day. Ryan will be introducing Taylor Swift, but you’ll have to tune into E! Live from the Red Carpet to see a newly glammed-up General Larry Platt’s Pants on the Ground. Jack talked about Pink’s rehearsal, saying it’s amazing and calling her a ‘power rock ballad tinkerbell.’
Josh Duhamel
Josh is also presenting at the Grammys; he doesn’t know which award but is hoping to present an award to the Black Eyed Peas. Ryan talked to him about helping Haiti, and Josh explained why he sent Ryan roses last week.
Book
Ellen and Natalie are reading a book by Kelly Cutrone of People’s Revolution but Ryan didn’t sound convinced about her advice that you have to be a bitch to further your life.
Idol contestant Angela Martin
Angela is the contestant who is on her third golden ticket to Hollywood. The first time she auditioned her dad was murdered, the second time she missed out because of a court hearing and this year her mom has gone missing. More information and a photo of Angela’s mom on Ryan’s website
Don’t feed … or choke … the chicken
Why did the chicken cross the road?
Dinner in LA
Ryan told a great story about yesterday evening. He was soaking wet after taking a run (mmm … hot … where’s the twitpic!) and called by his friend’s house to take a shower before they went out for dinner. Ryan’s friend disappeared leaving Ryan to get ready at his place and get to the restaurant with his girlfriend. Ryan had to borrow a shirt, and got ready with his friend’s girlfriend … sounded weirdly domestic! Of course, then he got to the restaurant and it sounds like half of Hollywood was there … Gloria Aldred, Adam Lambert with Simon Fuller and his Paris bestie Lionel Ritchie. Ryan also mentioned Adam Lambert’s birthday is today.
Finish the Lyric
Today’s finish the lyric went a bit pear-shaped … the contestant didn’t finish the lyric the first time, the second time Ryan finished the lyric himself, then it all kicked off as the contestant insisted she’d won, and Ryan came seriously close to whiny as he said “I did that part! I left you your part! Aww cmon!” That probably should have been annoying, but it was ADORABLE. If I knew Ryan, I’d want to provoke him all the time if he’s that cute when he’s cross ;) Naturally his singing was up to his usual standard. Ryan should make an album! I’d buy it and I bet it’d sell more than Heidi Montag’s did.
The Kardashians dropped in to Ryan’s studio at the end of the show, and Kris said that she was there to police his singing! How dare she! Ryan is kind enough to share his gift with the world, and the least people can do is appreciate his talent!
