Avril Lavigne
Avril is one of the two guest judges on tonight’s American Idol, along with Katy Perry (who Ryan said gets her claws into Kara), so Ryan talked to her about her experience on the show. Ryan wanted to know if Avril could tell within the first few seconds when someone walks into the room whether they have it, but Avril said not until they start singing. She told Ryan she was blown away by the talent, but when he said there were a few instances where she looked as though she wanted laugh, Avril admitted there were a few and mentioned a guy who was very sweaty.
Ryan also asked about Avril’s new music. She’s doing a song for Alice in Wonderland and that came about because she offered to write a song for the movie when she had a meeting about doing an exclusive clothing line. Her new album is done and will be out in June, with the first single coming out in April. Ryan asked if the material reflects the change in her life recently. Avril said the songs are personal, but said that she continued working with her husband after the split as they’ve been friends for a very long time and work well together.
Gayest City in America
On today’s show Ryan told his mom that Atlanta is the gayest city in America, based on a survey of same sex households, cruising spots and Netflix favourites and that he’d been swimming with whales over the weekend.
My favourite part of the conversation happened when they were talking about Ryan’s run in with a whale:
Connie: I told you not to go out in the water over your head!
Ryan: that’s about a foot from sand!
Ryan’s mom rocks. I wish he’d call her on air every day!
Later in the show, Ryan tweeted a photo of his breakfast: “In a commercial break now…breakfast..any guesses?”
Obviously it’s egg whites, because Ryan always eats egg whites, and you can clearly see a bit of broccoli at the bottom right … but what’s that grey stuff? Is that whale?
Ryan and Dennis are twins
Ryan and Dennis were wearing the same sweater, though Ryan didn’t seem happy when it was pointed out to him. Ryan said Dennis and he don’t wear anything that looks similar … but they’re similar enough that Ryan wanted a label check …
The Bachelor
Ryan said he watched The Bachelor, but was a little concerned in case anyone drove by and saw him. Ryan wanted to know if the girls can really all fall for one guy or if they’re acting. He thought the were visibly upset. I would guess the only thing the girls are really in love with is their own face on TV.
Ryan’s Roses
Another Roses call where a guy sent flowers to a girl who isn’t his wife/girlfriend or his mom. Are people really that stupid?
