One topic that had everyone talking today was Ryan’s interview with Adam Lambert — it even made the trending topics on Twitter!
Ryan asked Adam about the aftermath of the AMAs, in particular whether he had any regrets or had made any apologies, and said that he had still wanted Adam to appear on New Year’s Rockin’ Eve but it ultimately wasn’t down to him. Adam told Ryan he hadn’t made any apologies, laughing that it might have gone down differently if he had, and said the only thing he would have done differently was to sing it better. Adam added that he hadn’t expected his performance to upset viewers or the network and he called off the rabid glamberts told his fans it wasn’t Ryan’s fault about New Year’s! I have a foot in both fandoms when it comes to Ryan and Adam, so I blame the network mary whitehouse the internet global warming.
Ryan played Adam’s current single Whataya Want From Me from the album For Your Entertainment.

Ryan asked one of the questions Adam’s fans really want an answer to: what are his plans for the future. Adam is trying to get the music out internationally and hopefully putting a tour together. He also told Ryan he’s going to be on the red carpet at the Grammys, but wouldn’t reveal who he’s working for as it’s not announced yet. Adam said his outfit is going to top Ryan’s, but Ryan thinks he has enough issues without trying to compete with Adam. That’s a shame … Ryan could definitely pull off one of Adam’s outfits, and I’d be happy to watch him do it. Double entendre intended, triple entendre an accidental bonus ;)
Earlier in the show, Ryan said the bathroom smells fantastic, like a Chinese spa, so he told Roger from security to take Adam into the bathroom and talked to him from there!
Lionel Richie
Ryan mentioned a tribute to Lionel that goes out 23rd and 24th January, UNCF Evening of Stars Tribute to Lionel Richie, and rerecording “We Are The World” for Haiti. Ryan also talked about running into Lionel in Paris last year and Lionel said that Ryan’s personality is even more amazing after hours. He thinks there’s a reality show in that, ‘Ryan After Hours’.
Harrison Ford
Harrison told Ryan about preparing for his movie Extraordinary Measures.
Keeping up with the Kardashians
The episode airing this Sunday is the charity boxing match in which Rob got hurt up against a pro boxer. Ryan was in Huntington with Jamie Oliver when it happened, and was very concerned … to know if it made for good TV ;)

Who do you see at the grocery store?
Ryan spent about half an hour playing a game of ‘who do you see at the …’ on air with his staff. The whole thing was hilarious, particularly when Ryan said that he’d been told that music is the first priority and then failed to play any or run the ads. I can understand the radio station running a lot of ads in Ryan’s show, but why dilute the show’s ‘killer app’ with songs that anyone can play. More Ryan, less music!

Ryan gets the important news from Ken Baker … but I was too busy laughing at Ryan’s sincerity that I missed hearing which ship he’s on. I’m devastated.

Or so the piece of tape on his new sweater says. Good to know! Ryan’s not liking the bad weather … having to buy a new sweater, busting his tire on a pot hole, driving through the flooding water.
Kid gets busted for bad food choices
A kid on the shout out mentioned the school food she likes and Ryan busted her saying that’s why they’re doing the Jamie Oliver show! Classic!
Mark Thompson
Ryan had Mark Thompson on again to talk about the weather. It’s a bit distracting to be honest because they both have such gorgeous voices I zone out a little. My notes say they were talking about walking mini dogs and lying in bed in the dark, but that can’t be right …
Oprah
Oprah is taking up office space in Ryan’s office complex and he’s heard a rumour she’s requested a Coffee Bean be built inside the building. After a bit of investigative journalism (i.e. Ken Baker sent them a tweet), they discovered that there are no plans yet, but to ‘stay tuned’.
