On Air with Ryan Seacrest 2010-01-05

Giuliana Rancic

Ryan talks to Giuliana about her show and brings in Natalie who’s just caught up on the show and loves it.

Harvey Levin

Ryan talked to Harvey about the new paparazzi laws, which Harvey thinks are a good idea although he doesn’t think will change much so long as there are people who think they can make a lot of money, and why things were so busy for TMZ in December. Ryan and Harvey were talking about a discussion they had about the TMZ website before its launch four years ago, and Harvey said Ryan was the only person who thought it sounded interesting.

Calorie counting kids

A guy has an eleven-year-old daughter and he has a problem because his wife is going crazy with their daughter’s diet — getting her to watch weight and count calories as if she were going on a runway. There’s a mix of callers condemning the woman for potentially creating an issue out of weight for the daughter and comments about body image, peer pressure and ways to encourage healthy eating. After dishing out his top advice (‘you’ve got to start playing mind games with your wife…’), Ryan mentioned the importance of healthy eating in schools too, and by coincidence the new Jamie Oliver show from Ryan Seacrest Productions tackles just that issue.

Something fishy

Who went fishing, and what did they catch …

Facebook divorce

During one of his regular visits to divorce online … ahem … Ryan saw that Facebook is being named more in divorce cases due to inappropriate chats. Ryan first said it was dumb to get caught that way, but after Ellen suggested people wanted to get caught, he decided it was actually smart.

Fat boy’s eating in the dark

Ryan thinks that dark restaurants will do well at this time of year because if you’ve gained a little weight over the holidays and you don’t feel good in your clothes, you’ll go to a Mexican or Italian restaurant and hide out until you get back into your clothes comfortably.

Jersey Shore

Ryan played some clips of Snookie talking to Jay Leno … her favourite junk food is pickles and her most prized possessions her bronzer and eyeliner.

Apparently her name was in the frame for extra talent at the Golden Globes red carpet but it’s produced by Dick Clark and Ryan said he’s not going to expose Dick to that.

Ryan thinks Roger’s high

Roger at our E! Security desk just informed me he has food po... on Twitpic

Ryan talked to an odd-sounding E! Security Roger. Ryan thought he sounded high … but Roger doesn’t even drink while he’s working! It was a pizza from the store … but Ryan doesn’t think bad pizza sounds like that.

Someone on twitter tells a different story:

FollowJORDANAH: Ummm…I SAW how many Red Velvet pancakes Roger ate!? That’s not food poisoning…it’s over indulgence!!! : )

Poor Roger! Hopefully Ryan’s super presenter hands made him feel better … what IS Ryan trying to do on that photo?

Ryan’s at sixes and sevens

I think if I lived in LA, I’d be tempted to hunt Manny down for those pancakes. Sounds good right now!

But I would disagree with Ryan about him being better at seven than six. His grumpy-sleepy voice is adorable and some of his funniest comments are made before his brain catches up with his mouth…
