Ryan tweeted the photo, saying that Rihanna is gorgeous and funny … gorgeous and funny would be a pretty good description for Ryan too! Rihanna arrived late because her assistant thought she knew where the studio is because she used to work at KIIS … they went to the wrong one. Oops. She didn’t seem in any hurry to leave though; Ryan talked with her for a long time! They discussed Rihanna’s new album, her relationship with her father, how her life has changed, Ryan got Rihanna to clear up some of the rumours about her, and they took calls from several listeners.

12 Days of Giving

Ryan kicked off 12 Days of Giving with a tweet about World AIDs Day

RyanSeacrest: #12DaysofGiving starts today! It’s world AIDS day – support AIDS research w/ #RED by going to @starbucks 2day: http://bit.ly/12daysofgiving

There were plenty of retweets of Ryan’s message on Twitter; hopefully that translated into donations somewhere along the way, but I think they definitely contributed to raising awareness. I saw a few complaints that not enough celebrities were going #RED so great to see Ryan’s name used as an example of one who did.

Christmas party

Ryan was talking about his staff Christmas party, and it seems he’s been talking it up too much and now he’s trying to talk it down. His staff have heard rumours that he’s got a special guest … they’re hoping Michael Bublé or someone who’s in town for the Jingle Ball … and are wondering if he’s taking a date this year. I noticed he got a few offers on twitter after talking about it! I think they’ve talked more about the Christmas party on air than they have about Jingle Ball!

White House Party Crashers

Ryan played some clips of the White House ‘party crashers’, who said they’re not party crashers at all. The clips he played sounded a little odd … Ryan seemed to think they were being told what they could and couldn’t answer.

Everyone’s called Simon

Ellen read a story that made Ryan happy … Simon Cowell is number 40 on GQ’s list of most influential men. Well, I guess it made him happy that Simon isn’t higher than number 40, and he was able to rationalise that number 40 on a list from a small island was like number 400 in the US … but then he said that his mom wanted to know why everyone is called Simon!
