Cory Monteith

Cory plays Finn in Glee. Ryan said he thinks it would be a difficult show to be on as a cast member. Cory agreed, saying it’s long hours, but he’s really proud of it. Ryan asked Cory why he thinks this show has stuck. Cory said the show took a few risks, such as the type of music, and it’s paid off. He has been acting for six or seven years, but is totally new to singing and dancing, describing it as tricky. Ryan said he likes hearing about the ‘real’ stuff people have done before getting the dream. Cory said he’d had a million different jobs such as working as a people greeter at Wallmart and driving a taxi and told Ryan that if someone had told him six years ago this was going to happen, he’d have laughed them out of the room. Ryan asked about the rumours about him hooking up with one of his co-stars. Cory said he’s single and Ryan approves, advising him to exploit his fame and play the field.

New Moon

Ryan reads the passage from Bella’s point of view.

I flinched away from his hostile expression. He seemed to be waiting for an answer, so I shook my head. “You’re such a hypocrite, Bella—there you sit, terrified of me! How is that fair?” His hands shook with anger. “Hypocrite? How does being afraid of a monster make me a hypocrite?” “Ugh!” he groaned, pressing his trembling fists to his temples and squeezing his eyes shut. “Would you listen to yourself?” “What?” he took two steps towards me, leaning over me and glaring with fury “Well, I’m so sorry that I can’t be the right kind of monster for you, Bella. I guess I’m just not as great as a bloodsucker, am I?” I jumped to my feet and glared back. “No, you’re not!” I shouted. “It’s not what you are, stupid, it’s what you do!” “What’s that supposed to mean?” He roared, his entire frame quivering with rage. I was taken entirely by surprise when Edward’s voice cautioned me. “Be very careful, Bella,” his velvet voice warned. “Don’t push him too far. You need to calm him down.” Even the voice in my head was making no sense today. I listened to him, though. I would do anything for that voice.

Sam Rubin

Ryan and Sam talked about movies.

Do Your Kids Call Adults by Their First Names?

Ryan and Ellen talked about Ellen’s momversation about whether it’s okay to call adults by their first names. Ryan said he’d raise his kids to use Mr and Mrs, whereas Ellen said she thought Mrs K is too formal but doesn’t want to be called Ellen either. I think it’s interesting to see how different people like to be addressed, and not just by children.

Nene and Kim from Real Housewives of Atlanta

Ryan said that Nene and Kim have reconciled. Nene said they’ve agreed to put things aside and move on, but they’ll never be friends. There were no apologies.

Ryan’s really getting a dog

He wants a dog but he’s not allowed to have one in the E! Building so Ellen suggested Ryan needs a reason why the dog needs to be with him, such as needing the dog to help him walk, though Ryan’s “I’m short, the dog makes me taller” probably won’t pass muster. Ryan could probably saddle and ride the dog that’s trying to make out with him on his profile pic!

Big dogs are awesome … those paws are digging deep into the cushion — I bet you’d know about it if s/he decided to sit on your knee! And imagine trying to evict a dog that size from your favourite chair/bed or wherever else s/he’s not supposed to be but wants to curl up just because it’s yours.
