On Air with Ryan Seacrest 2009-10-30
Adam Lambert
Ryan premiered Adam’s new single For Your Entertainment.
Adam talked about how excited he was, and told listeners to ignore the hour and turn it up really loud! Ryan asked about the track, which Adam described as dance music with a glam rock shuffle beat, in the style of T-Rex or [Gary Glitter’s] Rock and Roll Part 2. Listen online here: adamofficial.com
After playing the track, Ryan asked about the rest of the album. Adam told him there was more electro pop but it wasn’t all like that and there’s something for every mood. Adam talked about the tracks from Pink and Lady Gaga, saying that Lady Gaga didn’t sing but was in studio during recording.
Ryan brought up the controversy over the album cover and asked Adam why he felt the need to defend it. Adam laughed a little about getting defensive, saying he’d hoped people would laugh when they saw it because it’s fun and not meant to be taken too seriously. Some people take everything Adam way too seriously … the adamverse is a scary place at times.
Adam denied the rumours about him appearing on Glee, but didn’t rule it out, and told Ryan he’s going to be a glampire for Hallowe’en, which Ryan thought was perfect for Adam. It would have been perfect for Ryan too … or maybe it’s just me that wants to see Ryan rock out the glitter!! There’s definitely something hot about a straight guy who’s not afraid to camp it up a bit.
The interview was over way too quickly, but Ryan reminded everyone that Adam will be performing live at the AMAS on the 22nd November … which is the day before his album drops. A day that can’t come soon enough for me!
I love For Your Entertainment. I had high expectations for Adam’s first single (the real first one, not No Boundaries or Time For Miracles …) and For Your Entertainment exceeded them. With the electro vibe and pulsing glam beat the track feels retro and futuristic at the same time. I think it’s a very sexy, hedonistic track that really gets under your skin … after listening to it a couple of times with the volume cranked up, I posted this to my glamily on twitter Does FYE make anyone else want to don leather pants and crawl across the floor with a very fierce expression? That just me? Rrrrawwww :) I wasn’t even joking…
Dress up time
It’s Hallowe’en and Ryan and co are playing dress up! Ryan’s wearing an original CHiPs uniform belonging to Erik Estrada. For someone who wasn’t sure about wearing a costume to work, Ryan sure seems to be getting into it! I have to admit, he looks less like one of the Village People than I was expecting. And he has handcuffs, which I’m trying not to think about. And failing, apparently.
The rest of the team look great! My favourites are Sadao and Negative Natalie, for comedy genius, and Corinne, whose outfit I adore.

Landon Donovan
Ryan talked to Landon ahead of the Galaxy’s game this weekend, asking about the playoffs and his relationship with David Beckham.
Miley Cyrus
Ryan asked Miley about a fan who joined Miley on stage at the City of Hope concert and whether she’s well again. Miley said she was really sick with strep recently and had to take a few days off. Ryan asked about her plans for her seventeenth — Miley wants to have a Dolly Parton themed party — and filming on Sex and the City 2.
Sam Rubin
Ryan wanted to know if Sam was dressed up… he said he’s never been good at it, but I liked his secret service guy one! They talked about the Michael Jackson movie “This is it” and whether it might be up for awards. Sam said Michael was in complete control on the stage, and knew exactly what he wanted and communicated it well.
Erik Estrada
Erik was a surprise guest on Ryan’s show — even Ryan didn’t know he was coming in!
He really needs a break!
A caller wanted Ryan’s advice on whether it’s okay for a guy to want a bit of time alone a long-term relationship. Seriously, I was feeling claustrophobic just hearing him talk about it. Everybody needs space … okay some people (girls mostly, but some guys too) are a bit clingy, but everyone needs a little ‘me’ time — even if they don’t realise it! Some of us need a lot of ‘me’ time, and that’s okay too.
