Ryan said he felt like they needed a ‘dress down show’ for dress down Friday where they would do things on the show that they don’t normally do or would get in trouble for. Feeling mischievous ahead of the weekend?

Paul McKenna
Paul McKenna explained to Ryan why people stay in bad relationships. He said it’s addiction rather than love and explained that abuse happens in small steps because people let others know how they can treat them and how much they can put up with. Ryan brought up the topic of Chris Brown and Rihanna and the rumours they got back together, and said they get a lot of calls from women who have issues then go back with the same guy. Paul said that the abuser often has a lot of remorse after it happens, but they can’t always control whether it happens again, and Ryan suggested that self-esteem plays a part in it. Paul gave a way to improve self-esteem: think of someone who loves and respects you; float into their person and look at yourself through their eyes, noticing the things you haven’t noticed in yourself, then take the feeling and float back into yourself. Ryan tried that and said he wanted to date himself :-)
Kellen Lutz
The Twilight DVD is out in the States today (Ryan will no doubt be first in line…), so Ryan read a few sappy lines from the book and spoke to Emmett Cullen actor Kellen Lutz about filming New Moon … and complained about Kellen taking his shirt off. Apparently he has an eight pack from swimming. I checked him out and he’s really not all that … he’s hotter than Robert Pattinson, but I much prefer the shirtless Ryan photos. You know, I think Ryan and Simon are starting to look tired this season. I think they should head to Barbados and pose for some more photos on the beach get a bit of R&R.

American Idol
Ryan asked the President of Fox, Mike Darnell, about the rumours of a feud between Paula and Kara. Apparently they’re fighting over a wardrobe budget, but they can’t have more because the President has spent it all on his clothes … from Ryan’s description it sounds like he makes Simon Cowell look stylish. They also spoke about the new rule, and Mike Darnell was quite candid about shaking things up to give people something to talk about. The show’s doctor was also on talking about the contestants being too busy to fight the flu through taking a break and getting lots of sleep.
President Obama on Jay Leno
Ben Silverman was on talking about the arrangements for getting the President into the studio for his appearance on Jay Leno. His people wanted to drive him right into the set and onto the stage, but the car weighs so many tonnes that it would have collapsed the stage. Ryan later played a couple of clips from the show, the first where Jay Leno said that the economy is so bad that Ryan is using Paula Abdul’s mascara, and the second where Barrack Obama likened Washington to American Idol, except everyone is Simon Cowell. I’m not happy that Simon got a cool name check from the President and Ryan got a dig about mascara. That sucks!
