@RyanSeacrest: My halloween costume. Wearin more rubber than the michelin man

Holy smoke! Ryan’s Halloween costume is pretty full on … did it come with a burning building? It wasn’t an easy decision for Ryan this year … he wanted to be Robin.

Ryan spoke to Chris about his Robin costume … which would fit nicely alongside a friend of his who was going as Poison Ivy.

Ryan said he watches his buddy on X Factor, but hadn’t picked his Halloween costume yet.

Ryan’s still looking for the perfect Halloween costume, and Ellen’s had enough of his “whining” and inability to commit to a costume. Ryan wasn’t deterred in his quest, and asked Amy to get Chris O’Donnell on the phone.

Ryan still hasn’t decided what he’s going to be for Halloween. Nelson spoke to Simon Cowell and got some tips for Ryan if he wants to dress up as him. One word to describe Simon: delusional!

Of all the things to notice about that photo, the first that came to mind was how good Ryan looks in that jacket! So now priorities are in order … what is he doing?!

Ellen’s son has a vocabulary test tomorrow, which meant that Ryan had one today.

Even in fifth grade, Ryan had his day scheduled to the minute.

Everyone who’s had the flu recently, they didn’t. Flu season is only just beginning! Ellen got a flu vaccine but Ryan has other issues … there’s nothing fun happening at the doctor’s office.

Ryan’s relationship with his phone is still a little rocky.

Ryan described how he hurt his knee, and it hurts just to listen. He’s not sure about having a meniscectomy … despite Ellen’s scientific question earlier, he wants to be able to have kids!

Ellen asked Ryan if he stays for movie credits, and determined from his answer that he doesn’t want kids. Ryan wasn’t convinced by the logic!

The host of the X Factor reportedly hasn’t charmed America, but he seems to have won Ryan over. We would have to question Ryan’s sincerity judgement though if he genuinely thinks Steve Jones is better looking than he is …

Also, Ryan needs surgery on his knee (and he really needs to work on his priorities!) He had a MRI and was told not to move, while he was in for 48 minutes thinking about not moving, while he could see the clock.

Giuliana has just had a diagnosis of breast cancer and Ryan played out her live interview on the Today show. Best wishes to Giuliana — hopefully she’ll make a full recovery and go on to have the baby she wants very soon.

Ryan has a pumpkin carving kit to play with … “watching” Ryan carve a pumpkin on radio is strangely entertaining.

While talking to callers about celebs hitting on people on the freeways, or just people who wished celebs would hit on them (Ryan) or their mom (Simon Cowell), Ryan told the story of his first celebrity sighting in LA.

Ryan’s getting an MRI on his injured knee. Hopefully he’s not going self-service, because that probably wouldn’t end well! He and Ellen are both really down on self-service … it started with Ellen taking the self-service queue at the store, and Ryan was off!

Ellen has sleaze on Simon’s shrubbery … Ryan has been known to trim his, but he has issues with the extension cord.

I had one encounter with Steve Jobs thru @AmericanIdol couple yrs ago. Apple was launching something thru our show. I called his office & was put on hold. Was nervous. I didn’t kno what to call him! Steve or Steve Jobs? We talked, his attn 2 detail amazing. He then told me he’d be watching, as if the pressure of a live show wasn’t enough… Incredible how hands on he was. We’ll miss him.

Ellen was a little sad about her son’s growth spurt, so they called Ryan’s mom to talk about his growth spurts. It would seem Ryan needs to buy his mom some rose-tinted glasses to look back at his past with!

Ellen remembers the previous times Julianne Hough was on the show. Wasn’t that when Ryan was still calling Julianne ‘the future Mrs Seacrest’?

Ryan told a story of a small town that outlawed dancing and Ellen wondered what’s in Julianne’s bedside drawer, while a caller assessed Ryan’s potential as a lover.

In an interview with A.V. Club, Joel McHale talked about making fun of Ryan and other E! shows on The Soup:

AVC: Has E! ever given The Soup flak for making fun of Ryan Seacrest and the Kardashians? What do you think its motivation is letting you make fun of its shows?

JM: Well, I think that started with our old president, Ted Harbert, and it’s continuing with our new president, Suzanne [Kolb]. She’s been great. Ted kind of set the tone years ago, where if we couldn’t make fun of our network, then I don’t think the show would happen. Luckily, Ryan Seacrest was a terrific sport, and he’s even participated. So for that, I’m very thankful, and the Kardashians have come on before. So it is [an] “any press is good press” type thing probably. But we never said anything malicious about Ryan. We make fun of his height and his pile of money. I wish someone would make fun of me for the pile of money I had.

AVC: So his attitude is like, “All right, so I’m a little short and I’m rich. What’s the big deal”?

JM: Yeah, and it makes him very astute. He knows that people have made fun of him in the past for whatever, just like anybody in the public eye. He doesn’t shy away from it and is not offended by it. He makes fun of it, and just like he was really funny in Knocked Up, so it’s great that he has a really good sense of humor.

AVC: Especially because you and Kathy Griffin are alternating ganging up on him.

JM: Yeah, I mean, he has the last laugh. He is the one who’s taking over all entertainment.
