Seacrest gets the scoop on Adam Lambert
Ryan’s radio show went on a little longer than usual today as he got the first interview with Adam Lambert after the news broke that Good Morning America had cancelled Adam’s appearance on the show following his scorching hot American Music Awards performance. Ryan said that Adam had kissed a boy and some guy snorkelled in his crotch, which is the funniest thing I think anyone’s said about Adam getting up close and personal in the dancer’s face. Adam said the sexuality was mostly choreographed, but confirmed to Ryan that he had got a little carried away when the adrenaline kicked in, but he was happy with that as he felt he was just interpreting the lyrics of his song.
When Ryan asked how Adam felt about his GMA appearance being cancelled, Adam told him it was too bad because there are fans who want to see him, but he doesn’t feel an apology is necessary because his performance was no big deal on late night TV. Ryan wanted to know if Adam would have done that kind of performance on American Idol, saying there’s no way he would have had Kris Allen do that with him. Too funny Ryan!
Seeing as the result was a few extra minutes of Ryan AND a “Secrest, Out” … oh, and Adam got a TON of publicity on the days he released his album and video … I don’t think it’s worked out too badly, but I do feel sorry for the people who’ve missed out on seeing Adam perform and hope they get another opportunity. I LOVED Adam’s AMAs performance … his singing not so much in parts, but I’ve heard him sing live and know he’s amazing, so he gets a free pass this once ;) I thought it was hot but I wouldn’t have called it outrageous so I’m surprised at all the fuss it caused.
