Ryan’s radio show went on a little longer than usual today as he got the first interview with Adam Lambert after the news broke that Good Morning America had cancelled Adam’s appearance on the show following his scorching hot American Music Awards performance. Ryan said that Adam had kissed a boy and some guy snorkelled in his crotch, which is the funniest thing I think anyone’s said about Adam getting up close and personal in the dancer’s face. Adam said the sexuality was mostly choreographed, but confirmed to Ryan that he had got a little carried away when the adrenaline kicked in, but he was happy with that as he felt he was just interpreting the lyrics of his song.
Ryan had some advice for anyone who presents at the AMAs: don’t read your tweets on the way home. Ryan read his, and was not happy with what people were saying! He was about to read out some of the tweets when he noticed Sadao laughing because he’d read them too! Ryan apparently doesn’t realise that anyone can read what people are tweeting … many of his fans probably read more of his tweets than he does ;)

Ryan announced Taylor Swift as Artist of the Year at the American Music awards, just before Adam Lambert performed For Your Entertainment, then appeared back on stage to close the show (making it ten minutes that made it well worth staying up until 4am UK time on a school night)
Ryan looked very handsome, and Adam was typically understated.
Ryan will be presenting the ‘artist of the year’ category at the American Music Awards. Nominations are Kings of Leon, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Eminem and Michael Jackson. Several Idols are performing live, including Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry and Adam Lambert. The show goes out live on ABC today at 8/7c and the red carpet is streaming live via the American Music Awards website at 6/5c.

In this New Moon reading, Ryan’s acting gets even hammier more dramatic and the special effects step up a notch as he masters both fire and water. If you look really, really closely, you might spot a bit of subtle sponsor logo placement too … and if you can’t find it, bing it. This was very moving performance — definitely one of Ryan’s best. The Herald Dispatch has a good article about Ryan’s visit to Huntington with some quotes from Ryan and some fantastic photos — Ryan’s looking great!
It’s interesting to read the local press reports and it seems there’s a mixed reaction in the community with some acceptance of the idea of educating people about healthy eating and some concern about how a town with a reputation for being unhealthy is going to be portrayed.
There’s an feature on Jools Oliver in the December issue of Red in the UK which says: “Jamie is off to film his biggest US project to date, visiting Huntington, West Virginia, America’s fattest town, in the hope of re-educating them about their diet.” Calling Huntington “America’s fattest town” is probably the sort of description the town officials are sensitive about, though Ryan’s comments offer some assurances:
I think Huntington has gotten a bum rap to a degree with some of the black and white press and these ‘unhealthiest city’ lists that have been created, but I look at what we’re doing as leading the charge and becoming the loudest voice in making a difference. The legacy of this community is not going to be what was, but what will be.
The article goes on to describe how the project came about after Ryan heard about Jamie’s work in the UK. From Ryan’s comment about “positive buy-in from people who initially didn’t want to believe” suggests reactions are similar to those in the UK when Jamie introduced the School Dinners campaign over here. Here’s what one of the dinner ladies had to say about that:
Now we have 500-600 kids come in and enjoy this lovely food every day and not one moan. They take their salad, yoghurt and fruit and they sit down and eat the lot. Before, they wouldn’t look at veg or salad.
There’s bound to be mixed opinions and resistance to change at this stage, but hopefully Ryan’s show will have positive results. Any education about healthy eating has got to be a good thing in my opinion and I’m looking forward to watching the show when it airs in the UK.

One thing that is apparent from recent photos is that Ryan appears to be in really good shape right now.
The scene is set, the candle is trying to burn Ryan’s arm, the music is playing (following a nudge from Ellen), and it’s time for another touching and not-even-slightly-overacted performance from Ryan. Ryan’s interaction with Jacob in this video is so convincing that I actually thought he was Bella for a moment, and the shot of Edward all alone is hilarious makes his absence from Bella’s life so much more amusing poignant.
How much I wished that Jacob Black had been born my brother, my flesh-and-blood brother, so that I would have some legitimate claim on him that still left me free of any blame now. Heaven knows I had never wanted to use Jacob, but I couldn’t help but interpret the guilt I felt now to mean that I had. Even more, I had never meant to love him. One thing I truly knew—knew it in the pit of my stomach, in the center of my bones, knew it from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet, knew it deep in my empty chest—was how love gave someone the power to break you. I’d been broken beyond repair. But I needed Jacob now, needed him like a drug. I’d used him as a crutch for too long, and I was in deeper than I’d planned to go with anyone again. Now I couldn’t bear for him to be hurt, and I couldn’t keep from hurting him, either. He thought time and patience would change me, and, though I knew he was dead wrong, I also knew that I would let him try. He was my best friend. I would always love him, and it would never, ever be enough.
TMZ claims they’ve found out from their sources in law enforcement that the man who is allegedly stalking Ryan shows signs of early schizophrenia and said during his interview: “I felt like I was meant to see someone.”
If this is true, it’ll probably take more than a restraining order to keep Ryan safe. If the man is genuinely ill, I hope he gets the help he needs to get him back on track — while staying a very long way from Ryan.
“We want to start here and continue to work around the country to help with the young people and their families,” Seacrest said. “I want to meet the moms of the town, meet the students, and I want to see the schools.”

Ryan arrived in Huntington, where filming is underway on the new Ryan Seacrest Productions series with Jamie Oliver. Jamie has been filming for a few weeks, and HuntingtonNews.net has a report from the point of view of a participant:
“There were long tables with cooking stations set up [in the street], a little gas, a Wouk and stir fry. They brought the food to us, the recipe and he told us what to do.”
Asked about the motives of Chef Oliver, which have been questioned, Wilson explained that after having worked at Central Elementary with his crew, she knows he has the Tri-State’s best interest at heart. She’s not sure what Ryan Seacrest (the production company) will do to Jamie’s final product.
“Some of them say, I don’t like it, but teachers in the lunch room tell them to try it. I don’t know the percentage, but I’ve walked by and [some] of the plates are clean,” Wilson explained.

Reuters reports that ordinary Americans pitch a proposal to a panel that includes Candy Spelling, Vanessa Rousso, Sean Patterson and Melody Thornton, and if the pitch is successful panelists give away their own money. Yahoo says the show is based on Fortune: Million Pound Giveaway and its first run will have 8 episodes, starting December 14th at 10pm.
Ryan is quoted saying:
The idea’s simple, we are giving away tons of money to everyday people to alleviate the stress of today’s climate and have fun.

One-at-a-time, a different contestant enters the arena-like stage via a lighted tunnel walk-way to convince the panel to give them the requested amount of money from the “bank of Hollywood”. They must prove that their cause is notable, and will make a significant change in their lives for the better.
From the description in hollywoodjunket’s set report, there’s a mix of business start-ups, good causes and outlandish requests. They think the show will be an ‘audience-pleaser in this time of recession’ but think it needs to ‘waste less time with the crazies’. I have to be honest and say I’m quite looking forward to seeing ‘the crazies’!
TMZ is reporting that Chidi Uzomah pled not guilty to the charges of felony stalking and two misdemeanors against Ryan Seacrest. Bail has been set at $150,000 and Uzomah is back in court on November 16th.
The court implemented a three-year protection order, ordering Uzomah not to go within 500 ft of Ryan and to attempt no contact with him whatsoever.
E! Online and TMZ are both reporting that felony stalking charges have been filed against Chidi Uzomah. Uzomah will be arraigned on Tuesday for the stalking charge plus two misdemeanors for disobeying previous court orders. A conviction would mean a maximum of four years in state prison.

Ryan was at the Lakers game yesterday evening. Beto Duran tweeted to say Ryan was taking photographs with fans and JP810 posted a twitpic of Ryan walking around with Jeanie Buss.
Two stories that got Ryan a lot of news headlines in October 2009 were his visit to London for Simon Cowell’s 50th birthday party and the arrest of his alleged stalker. Videos of Ryan’s New Moon readings were hugely popular across blogs and fandom, and Ryan’s visit to the Ronald McDonald House and gala resulted in interviews from Atlanta media organisations.
Simon Cowell’s 50th Birthday
Simon’s 50th birthday celebration was one of the biggest and most extravagently narcisistic events of the year. Ryan’s twitpic of the Simon soup appeared everywhere, along with his comments about the waiters wearing Simon masks and the video messages in the bathroom. Ryan was papped at LAX, outside his hotel in London, at Bungalow 8 and arriving for the party. Randy Jackson flew in for the party too but Paula Abdul had flu and was unable to travel. Few photos from the event have surfaced online, but Piers Morgan told stories of Ryan being dragged on stage and whipped by a dominatrix (!) and several people said Ryan was hugging it out with Simon to the sound of New York, New York.
Ryan’s alleged stalker
Every news and blog was reporting on Ryan’s alleged stalker, Chidi Uzomah, at the end of October. We first heard about Uzomah last month when he assaulted a bodyguard who stopped him approaching Ryan’s car after getting an autograph outside CHOC. During October, Uzomah went to the KIIS FM studios in Burbank, not realising that Ryan doesn’t do his show from there, despite being told to stay away from Ryan as a condition of his probation. Last Friday he turned up at E! building where he was detained, arrested and later charged with felony stalking. Ryan’s lawyers were granted a temporary restraining order. This is a disturbing ongoing story that has everyone talking and a lot of people concerned about Ryan’s safety.
New Moon
In the run up to the release of New Moon the movie, Ryan has been reading passages from the book, as he did last year with Twilight. Fortunatley for Twihards and Ryan fans alike, most of the readings have been on video — ensuring that they were posted and discussed on blogs everywhere.
Cut the gay jokes
Mid-month many sites were reporting that Simon Cowell and Ryan Seacrest had been told to cut the gay jokes on the next season of Idol with the arrival of [Ryan’s good friend] Ellen DeGeneres — Gossip Cop judged the story fiction, quoting a well-placed individual saying “it’s total crap”.

The Kardashians were in the news following the wedding of Khloé and Lamar and the Keeping Up With The Kardashians Wedding Special airs next month. Towards the end of the month, a new show called Bank of Hollywood was starting to generate interest on twitter and forums. There’s not much known about it yet, but the news item we posted on this site is geting more traffic than stories about RSP shows generally do.
New Music
Ryan premiered several new music tracks on his radio show, and these generated a lot of buzz. Debuts included tracks from Adam Lambert, Rihanna, Timbaland and Leighton Meester.
Ronald McDonald house gala
Ryan visited the Atlanta Ronald McDonald House and hosted a gala fundraiser. There was a TV interview on Good Day Atlanta and a ten-minute YouTube interview with Rodney Ho, who also wrote up the visit on his Idol blog.
