Ryan’s mom had given him some good advice about women, but he may have taken some of it a little too literally…

Ryan responded to a tweet asking if he is going to Simon Cowell’s birthday party this weekend:

As anyone who listens to Ryan’s radio show will know, Simon will be 60 in October. And anyone who doesn’t listen to the show may know that Simon’s going to be 50 on the 7th.

In honour of National Coffee Day, Ryan declared he would drink so much coffee he would need to pee nearly every time Commander Chuck reads a traffic report (which, if you don’t listen to the show on KIIS, is quite often!)
Ellen said she likes when Ryan gets all jittery from too much coffee before telling Ryan that maybe coffee wasn’t good for his voice. Ryan didn’t think losing his voice would be a problem because he has so many other talents…

According to Ellen K on Ryan’s radio show today, Ryan is number 2 on Cosmopolitan’s Stud Meter, sandwiched between Matt Damon at number one and David Beckham at number three.
Ryan said it wasn’t a particularly studly picture of him … before asking Ellen if he could keep the feature ;)
How is Matt Damon ahead of Ryan, though? Come on, Cosmo … Ryan should be number one!

On his radio show today, Ryan said he’s going to be a dad in a movie but he wouldn’t say which one it is. He did say that Cameron Diaz is in the same movie, though … but they’re not filming together.
I really hope he’s not being scammed by Ben Stiller again …. just give him a shout out already, Ryan ;)

Dane Cook was in the studio to talk to Ryan … when I hear a comedian being interviewed I always have this ‘come on then, be funny…’ attitude. Particularly when I don’t know their work and Ryan’s so funny every day. But there was one point in the interview that I thought, ‘okay. That was funny’:

Entertainment Weekly has an interview with Joel McHale about his obsession with Ryan. EW asked Joel why he talks so much about Ryan:
He has all the money. He has the looks. He has a full head of hair. And he is slowly taking over our world. He is the one we always are going to make fun of because you always make fun of the big guy—even though that big guy is 4′11″.”
Joel also told a story about getting a call from the CEO of Comcast telling him Ryan was pissed and he’d gone too far on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien.
After getting through his nine assistants, [Ryan] called me back, and I was like, ‘Hey man, just want to say I understand that you’re pissed. I know I say all sorts of crap and I tell a lot of bad jokes….’ And then there was this long pause and he was like, “Gotcha, McHale!!!”

Ryan will be broadcasting his show from the Children’s Hospital Orange County on the 15th September as part of the annual fundraiser. The hospital has a radio studio in the lobby so that kids who stay in the hospital can host their own shows, request music and listen to shows that are just going out to the hospital — a project Ryan wants to expand to hospitals nationwide.

People often call into Ryan’s radio show asking him for advice. Sometimes he gives great advice, sometimes he gives questionable advice, and sometimes he just really doesn’t want to know. One caller wanted Ryan’s advice because her husband had turned into an old man seemingly overnight when he hit 31, but unfortunately for her, she caught Ryan in a particularly unhelpful mood:
Ellen did offer the caller some advice, but I’ve cut that out so it doesn’t get in the way of Ryan’s early morning cuteness and his hilarious close.

RyanSeacrest: Sitting in office working on a cool announcement for kids at children’s hospital in orange county. Should be able to tell u tomorrow!

The Dublin Evening Herald has an interview with Tara Leniston who describes a dinner date she had with Ryan in LA … it doesn’t sound like she made a great impression on him:
“I had been out on a date with this other guy before Ryan. I had been on a few dinners with him. And I saw him when I was with Ryan and I panicked. So I leaned down under the table and said I’d been bitten by an insect.
“He was behind Ryan and I was trying to keep out of his line of vision. I went to the toilet and didn’t come out for 20 minutes. I didn’t see Seacrest again. He probably thought I was mad!”

Ryan posted an update to say that there were plenty of tears of both sadness and joy from the contestants at the auditions, and he managed to get in a jog along the lake at sunset.
