Ryan asked Ellen if she remembered their first meeting. Ellen seemed to remember it in a lot more detail than Ryan did, though how he managed to make a good impression on her from the description she gives is a bit of a mystery!

They first met in an office where Ryan had a meeting with his boss and Ryan was wearing a Prada suit, Prada loafers and a bright orange Prada shirt. Ellen had a coffee and was about to eat a cookie, but after the boss asked did Ryan want a cookie, Ryan said “noone eats those cookies in front of me … I can’t eat that cookie!” so none of the people in the office at the time had a cookie either.

Ryan said that if he were Ellen, he’d have said ‘no’ when he asked her to work with him, adding: “if I said that, forgive me. I sound like an absolute jerk!” Ellen reassured him that he was being funny, but really I’m impressed she’s so cool with it. I don’t know that I’d be so forgiving of a man who came between me and a cookie ;)

It sounds like she had an awesome time! Ryan always seems to make a good impression on people. It seems that no matter how busy he is, he never loses the personal touch.

Ryan has been spotted out with Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson in Florida where they’re currently filming American Idol auditions.

Randy Jackson and Ryan Seacrest show off a bit of leg ….

Randy and Ryan are both in Dallas for American Idol auditions. In Ryan’s defense, he was just demonstrating how Randy’s jeans were rolled up … Randy travelled like that! Ryan has pretty ankles…

Last week’s première of Kourtney & Khloé take Miami was the highest rated in seven years on E! and from Ryan’s interview with Kourtney and Khloé on his radio show on Friday, episode two sounds to be just as much fun!

This week shows Kourtney at an art class. She didn’t know before she arrived that there would be a nude model and although she likes to draw, drawing an old man’s saggy ….. (we didn’t get to hear what she said, but it doesn’t take much imagination to guess!) wasn’t doing it for her. The class wasn’t a total waste of time for Kourtney though because she got to meet new friend Jacqui – a hot lesbian (Ryan’s description!) who she hooks up with later.

Ryan got onto the subject of kissing on Friday’s show, saying that if you’re not a good kisser, you’re not going to close.

Ellen asked Ryan if he’s a good kisser. Ryan said he was, then decided that they should call up somebody he’d kissed to ask them! While he was wondering aloud who he could call up that he’d kissed, there was a lot of laughter in the background and Ellen revealed something that Ryan had said the day before: “chances are if you’re a woman between the ages of 24 and 28, you’ve dated me!” Ryan made a half-hearted attempt to deny saying that, but he wasn’t convincing anyone!

Ryan thought he might have kissed Giuliana … she said no, but he had kissed a friend of hers, who would have said if he’d been bad, and she’d spoken to another girl Ryan had been intimate with who had given him two thumbs up and told Giuliana he was great … at this point, Ryan quit while he was ahead!

On the original subject of whether a kiss is too wet, Ryan later added that male saliva contains an aphrodisiac and guys are sloppy because they’re trying to transfer it to attract the girl.

Ryan tweeted to say that the American Idol auditions continue next week in Dallas, Orlando and Chicago. Sounds like it’ll be a hectic week for Ryan and his team.

No, we’re not taking a pop at Ryan’s height … but if you ever wanted to know what size shirt Ryan wears, he said on today’s show that he normally wears a small but takes an XS at French Connection.

Ellen and Natalie called Ryan out on leaving the shirt lying around so everyone would know he takes an XS, so Ryan said he isn’t bothered about his weight (sure…), doesn’t think there should be an XS size for guys and would prefer it to be SS.

Our favourite tweeter (our favourite most things, if we’re being honest…) has tipped the 2 million followers mark … that’s a lot of people hanging on to his every word of wisdom!

Despite the huge number of tweets he receives, Ryan is one of the most interactive celebrities on twitter and frequently takes time out to reply to fans’ questions, comments and gripes. Sometimes he’s funny, sometimes he completely misses the point (which is also funny), sometimes he’s totally random (which we love), and sometimes we have to consult our Ryan-to-English dictionary to decipher his shorthand … but we love how connected Ryan is, and always look forward to reading what he has to say. His tie ping tiping trying typing skills are the stuff of legend, but we’re not going to make jokes about his over-sensitive ball that fires tweets off too soon … because now we’ve said that, you can make your own.

Our favourite tweets from Ryan are the ones where he tells us what, where and with whom he’s eating, the ones that defy attempts to classify them (wtf!) … and when he makes a silly typing error, mainly because it’s funny to see how many typos, spelling mistakes and grammatical errors there are in the tweets he’ll get correcting him. Who cares if Ryan can’t spell can’t type! Informal communication channels are about getting the message across and if you understand him well enough to correct him, the message was received.

Congrats and thanks to Ryan and his team for making such great use of twitter and building up his online profile. The improvement in Ryan’s web and social media presence in the last six-twelve months has been stunning and we love it!

Ryan talks at 2:15. He was asked what it’s like behind the scenes and Ryan explained that there’s nothing he can say to make it better; they’re disappointed and it’s tough. He thinks the best thing he can do is to let mom and dad give the contestants a hug then encourage them to come back again if the judges gave them feedback.

The next round of American Idol auditions are in Atlanta and the guest judge will be Mary J. Blige. Some of Ryan’s radio crew are already in Atlanta; Ryan said last week he’d be in Atlanta for Idol on Sunday and dinner with family on Sunday evening after heading back to California from Boston to attend a friend’s wedding on Saturday.

So according to Gordon Ramsay, Ryan is chubby… but the ladies of Boston say he’s looking thin. I think he’s looking really good!

The 2009 Teen Choice Awards took place yesterday, but as the show doesn’t air on Fox until this evening we’ve listed the results after the cut.

Ryan was nominated, along with Simon Cowell, in the TV Personality category and American Idol was nominated in the Reality Music Competition category.

American Idol auditions start in Denver this week, so Ryan will be heading out there to join the judges: Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi ….. and Victoria Beckham! Rumours were circulating yesterday evening that ‘Posh’ would be joining the show as a judge, and Ryan confirmed on his radio show today that she’s going to be a guest judge for one show, so she’ll be in Denver too.

Ryan’s admitted to a crush on Victoria in the past, so he should get a little bit of extra job satisfaction :) That’s if he’s not off brits altogether after being called tubby by Gordon Ramsay earlier today! I can’t wait to see what kind of judge Victoria is … I hope she shows off how warm and humorous she can be, as she’s quite often portrayed as very two-dimensional, which she absolutely isn’t.

Rumours are still circulating about Paula and TMZ think there’s still a good chance she’ll return. I hope she does come back, but, if she does, I hope they don’t stage a dramatic return like Simon C did for Louis Walsh’s return to the X Factor!

Paula Abdul broke the news that she’s leaving American Idol via twitter:

I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day1become an international phenomenon. What I want to say most, is how much I appreciate the undying support and enormous love that you have showered upon me It truly has been breathtaking, especially over the past month I do without any doubt have the BEST fans in the entire world and I love you all.

Ryan reacted with shock and sadness and can’t imagine the panel without Paula:

Idol and the cast have grown with each other over the last 8 seasons..I can’t imagine the panel without puala. She’s a star @ a great friend. It’s a shame to see the core of the AI family break apart. While I’ve never rated Paula as a critic, I like the warmth she brings to the show and her wild enthusiasm when she feels an Idol really delivered. Mostly, I’ll miss her interaction with Simon. It’s funny watching him giggling like a school boy and although he has a good rapport with the girls on The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent, Paula seems to bring out the worst best worst in him. Who’s Simon going to torment if Paula isn’t there? (Ryan, probably).

It was announced last week that Kara DioGuardi will return for another season.

Ryan was tweeting again on his arrival in LA, en route to his friend’s bachelor dinner. After Ryan talking so much about his ideas for a bachelor weekend on the radio and asking people to tweet suggestions …. they had dinner in Hollywood (possibly at Boa as we received an email telling us he’d been seen there).
