Kourtney & Khloé Take Miami premieres Sunday August 16th 10/9c on E!

Ryan is due to start filming the next round of the American Idol auditions soon, this time with the judges. First round auditions this year were held in Boston, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Orlando and Denver, and this time Ryan wants you to go along and say ‘hi’:

As he has almost two million followers on twitter, that could get crowded!

The question on my mind as the auditions get closer is which of the judges will be there with Ryan. We know that Ryan has agreed to continue with Idol for another three years, and Simon Cowell is under contract for the next season at least, so as far as I’m concerned, the heart and soul of American Idol will definitely be there. Randy Jackson has a contract, but what of Paula Abdul and Kara DioGuardi? Paula’s dissatisfaction with her offer has been widely discussed, but will we see her return at the last minute? Would Paula participate in the auditions if contract negotiations are still ongoing, and where’s Kara in all of this?

I like American Idol with Ryan, Simon, Randy and Paula … and while I wouldn’t be devastated if Kara left, I’d like to see her back too. It’s not easy coming along and trying to fit into a well-established and much-loved (or at least familiar!) family, and while her involvement in writing last season’s winner’s single doesn’t do her any favours, it’s not entirely her fault as she’s written some great songs and the winners’ singles are all as bad as each other.

Filming gets underway in two weeks, so we should find out soon!

Ryan’s twitter was buzzing yesterday evening and this morning with big breaking news about a ‘game changing entertainment deal’ that would change ‘how and what you watch’ and involve major shows and stars and ‘have impact on one major network immediately’.

When he finally broke the news, Ryan revealed that the guy behind The Office and The Biggest Loser is leaving NBC to launch a new studio that would mean viewers can watch ‘anything anywhere anytime’. This sounds exciting, particularly if they’re looking towards a global audience rather than US-only, but we’re wondering where Ryan is in this as he sounds as though he’s already involved. Are we reading too much into Ryan’s tweets ?

According to TMZ, Ben Silverman is not only integrating the traditional and digital media worlds, but he is in talks with Ryan: Goodbye Peacock, Hello Ryan Sounds intriguing; it’ll be interesting to see how this develops.

The new business aims to merge digital media with traditional media in an effort to unite producers, creators, advertisers and distributors to bring the viewer a streamlined content consumption experience.

Ryan announced this week that he’s setting up a Foundation to build radio stations in children’s hospitals so kids can do their own radio shows from the hospital lobby to the rooms. Ryan took to twitter to reveal his plans and ask his followers to suggest hospitals throughout the US, saying that he’s done one as a test and wants to do hundreds of them now.

Ryan plans to broadcast his own shows from the hospitals to launch each station and wants artists to get involved by stopping by for the kids to interview, telling his followers to tweet their favourite bands and singers to see if they’re up for helping out.

This sounds like an awesome and worthwhile idea and we applaud Ryan’s mission to “put smiles on these kids’ faces!”

Ryan was at the Funny People premiere yesterday evening. Zap2it.com caught up with him on the red carpet and asked about live broadcast horror stories and whether he thought Paula Abdul would return to Idol this season (he hopes so!).

The Emmy nominations are out and Ryan has been nominated in the Outstanding Host For A Reality Or Reality-Competition Program category for American Idol. The other nominees in his category are Phil Keoghan who hosts The Amazing Race, Tom Bergeron host of Dancing with the Stars, Heidi Klum from Project Runway, last year’s winner Jeff Probst who hosts Survivor and a joint nomination for Padma Lakshmi and Tom Colicchio of Top Chef. Congrats on the nomination Ryan, and we hope they get it right this year!

Ryan might not be hosting AT40 this week, but he’s getting plenty of mentions as Adam and Kris poke a little fun at him. Nothing wrong with a little lightly-roasted Ryan though … my compliments to the chef producers.

The Hollywood Reporter claims that Ryan is in talks to extend his contract for hosting American Idol for another three years, which is great news if it’s true.

The pact, which is believed to be for three years, will give Seacrest a major pay raise and make him one of the highest-paid reality hosts on tele¬vision. He made slightly less than $5 million this season for his work on “Idol,” which breaks down to about $100,000 per episode.

Additionally, Seacrest is said to be expanding his relationship with 19 Entertainment, possibly to develop series with 19 principal and “Idol” creator Simon Fuller.

Ryan flew out to Orlando to film the crowd scenes at the penultimate round of auditions for Season 9 American Idol. According to Ryan’s updates, there were 9,000-10,000 people at the auditions.

cheers are let out as American Idol host Ryan Seacrest arrives via golf cart for taping the auditions. He has come to tape the preliminary opening for the Orlando auditions segment and takes the time in between for picture shoots, sign autographs and talk with contestants.

Ryan has hosted American Top 40 since 2004, but American Top 40 has been around since July 4, 1970 when Casey Kasem did the count down from 40 to 1. 39 years old and still sounding fresh!

Next week’s AT40 will be hosted by Adam Lambert and Kris Allen.
