The TV star, who famously dated Teri Hatcher, told me that as well as setting his sights on a West End role – preferably in Chicago – he is also keen on lining up a date.

I feel as though I’ve strayed into a parallel universe.

Ryan tweeted to say he was at the Grove to watch The Hangover

KIIS’ DJ Skee went to R. Kelly’s house to do an MTV interview. Someone at KIIS told R. Kelly that Ignition is one of Ryan’s favourite songs and hearing that Ryan sometimes sings along, R. Kelly recorded a message for him:

Ryan Seacrest: That I use my Blackberry during commercial breaks. I’ve at times been finishing a Tweet, email or text as the blue [show logo] graphic is up on your screen. I’ve actually almost been caught slipping it into the back pocket of my suit after a commercial break. I can’t help it.

According to X17, Ryan and Lindsay went to Chateau Marmont and H-Wood together, then went first to Lindsay’s house and later to Ryan’s.

Hidden amongst the many versions of the same report of yesterday’s American Idol auditions in Boston, we found this gem of a blog from an intern at Fox 25 in Boston.

It’s a great read for anyone interested in what goes on at American Idol auditions, but of course we were most interested to read what she had to say about Ryan:

I’ve heard a lot of horror stories about certain personalities who turn into huge jerks, but Ryan isn’t one of them. He was really good about answering everyone’s questions and took the time to do tags (for example, he held our FOX25 mic and said “This is Ryan Seacrest for FOX25 in Boston, telling you to tune in for season 9 of American Idol). It may seem pretty basic, but he could have easily said he was busy and had other things to do.

Ryan has confirmed the week that Adam Lambert and Kris Allen will be hosting the American Top 40 as the second weekend in July:

The Mail snapped Ryan out with Simon at Stringfellows yesterday.

They are two of the world’s most famous bachelors, so it should have come as no surprise that Simon Cowell and American Idol host Ryan Seacrest would head to London’s infamous Stringfellows stripclub for a lads’ night out.

Conan talked to Ryan about overcoming adversity and showed a photo of Ryan as an overweight kid. Ryan explained he gained weight because he used to come home every day and make himself a cookie sheet of nachos with cheese and watch Oprah.

They also talked about a few things relating to Ryan’s weight: he hated back-to-school shopping and trying on jeans and he didn’t like spring break or having to take his shirt off, and actually kept it on in the pool.

Ryan still has weight issues, which isn’t news to anyone who listens to his show, and has to watch what he eats to stay slim. He looks great now though!

Conan asked about Ryan’s relationship with Simon Cowell, saying “you guys fight like an old married couple” and observing that they “seem like spurned lovers at times!”

Ryan replied “he is an old man. He’s not like an older brother. It’s more like the weird cousin who tries to make out with a blood relative at Thanksgiving.”

Seriously, Ryan, your cousins sound way weirder than mine …

Ryan went on to talk about Simon’s lotions and potions, speculating “he’s admitted to having botox and if he didn’t have botox I think he would look like Angela Lansbury.”

Sometimes a contestant will walk out and you’ll think they have forgotten the lyrics because they’re nervous, and it’s just because they’re distracted by these nipples that are shooting at them!

We know that Ryan and Simon like to take shots at each other on air, and Ryan stated during the interview that he and Simon are good friends, but it’ll be fun to watch some of these comments as they make their way around the internet.

Ryan Seacrest continued his war of hair words with Simon Cowell by saying Simon hasn’t gotten his hair cut since Casey Kasem hosted “America’s Top 40.”
