American Idol 2009: Top 4 Results
Ryan says that 64 million votes were registered last night before introducing the top four and the judges. Tonight’s guests are No Doubt, Daughtry and Paula Abdul and Slash performed Schools Out with the top four.
Ryan asked Simon about Kris’ attitude and Kris was advised to have a little more confidence. He asked Adam about his week and Adam was thrilled with getting the Led Zeppelin song and liked his outfit. Ryan then asked Danny about his final note yesterday and Danny admitted it wasn’t quite as good as he thought it had been on stage, saying he was laughing all evening because it was so bad. He then asked Allison about her feistiness. She said she’s not the kind of person to answer back or be disrespectful, but she felt as though she needed to say something.
The first guest artist is Paula singing an old Kylie Minogue track. Ryan introduced it from Paula’s place between Simon and Kara even though it looks as though it was recorded. The choreography was great again. After the performance Ryan asked her ‘why now?’ and Paula said there was no happier place to be than on the stage.
The next performance is No Doubt doing ‘Just a Girl’. Totally one of my favourite tracks ever. They look and sound fantastic! Ryan said Gwen made him nervous running around the stage after all the problems they’d had this week and asked why No Doubt are going on tour when they don’t have an album to promote. Gwen explained they’re doing it backwards and she wanted to go on tour but they intend to write an album. The tour begins next week in Vegas.
Ryan explains that the finalists will be announced in a random order and he’ll be sending the top three to safety. The first person to safety is Kris and he looks surprised.
Before Daughtry played their new song, Ryan introduced his success story which should be a comfort for whichever contestant goes out tonight.
Finally Ryan gets to the end and is stressing that this is random order. The second person through is Adam and the third person through is Danny. I’m so disappointed for Allison.
Next week there are two songs for each contestant. One will be the judges’ choice, the other will be their personal favourite.
Simon Cowell has talked about Adam Lambert having international appeal. Have a look at this screenshot from a UK-based forum:
