American Idol 2009: Results Show 1
Ryan looked amazing in the results show. I’m really loving his look this season. I like the cute sweaters but the unbuttoned shirt with jacket is really working and jeans always get my vote. I think that’s the best he’s looked so far in season 8 (with the Grand Canyon intro a close second).
Ryan seemed very bouncy which is amazing considering the hours he’s working at the moment. Why was Randy Jackson booing Simon during the introductions? And then when Kara was talking about people who had disappointed the previous night, Randy threw in ‘Simon’, which set Kara and Paula off saying Simon had disappointed too:
Simon: I didn’t have a good night, did I!
Ryan: We’re not talking about after the show guys. During the telecast.
Randy: Woah! Ryan! Ryan! This is a PG programme, cmon man.
Ryan: Dinner! [to Simon]: How would you judge Kara’s performance last night?
Kara: Ryan! What are you trying to do here?
Ryan: Just breaking you in.
Simon: What, at dinner?
Kara: We didn’t go to dinner … we didn’t … Simon, shhh!
Ryan at his naughty best, but I think we can thank Randy for setting that one up.
Anoop was playing up feeling relaxed, but with Ryan in his face he said he was the most nervous he’s even been. Ryan wasn’t getting much sense out of Tatiana though he definitely seemed to be trying for more of a reaction than he got. It was good that he pushed Randy to get off the fence about Casey and say that she hadn’t done enough to get through but Kara’s not shy about giving her opinion, which is great. She’ll go far. Hopefully too far at some point ;-) It was great to watch Paula squirm a little when Ryan asked her which one of Danny and Tatiana should go through. Tatiana has tried to make a connection with her and wears her jewellery, but Paula still said Danny. Didn’t the show cut to a break in the States before delivering the verdict? Or did I imagine that. Tatiana looked as though she was going to faint when Ryan was asking if she was okay.
Anoooooop!! Oh no. America, how could you? I really hope the judges bring Anoop back for the wildcard round (was he fourth in the voting? Ryan said there were only 20,000 votes separating Anoop from Michael Sarver) and someone tells him to sing a proper song this time. I was hoping for Ricky Braddy and Alexis Grace to be in the top three with Anoop Desai, so one out of three. One out of three from my predictions too, just Danny Gokey. I really thought Anoop would make it, but I’m really glad Tatiana didn’t get through. What was with her this week? She went from annoying to boring without passing through any middle ground. I just don’t get how Michael Sarver is through … I admit that I don’t like his kind of music, but I can usually appreciate a good singer without necessarily liking their style. I voted for Leona Lewis in The X Factor each week because she was the best singer by a mile, but I didn’t really enjoy any of her performances and she’s not yet recorded anything that I’d willingly listen to.

I really hope Adam Lambert makes it through and my other two picks would be Mishavonna Henson and Matt Giraud. That might change after watching Live Show 2, of course!
