'Ryan Seacrest High Fives Blind Guy'
I’ve seen variations on this headline everywhere today, and I’m somewhere between amused and bemused at the reaction I’m seeing. Did I miss the memo for Have a Go at Ryan Seacrest week?
When I started getting alerts through (American Idol hasn’t aired here yet), I was amused for about 2 seconds and just thought that the contestant’s visual impairment wasn’t the first thing Ryan was thinking about while interacting with him. That’s a good thing, right? The guy was there to sing. Is he any good? I haven’t seen anyone talking about that so much.
I thought it was mildly amusing with a fair recovery — and an awkward TV moment that’s got people talking about the show. Props to Ryan and whoever decided to leave it in.
Update: now I’ve watched the show in good quality on TV … the guy, Scott Macintyre, has a decent voice and he’s cute.
