Ryan Seacrest at the Golden Globes
The web is buzzing with the news that ‘Brangelina’ refused to talk to Ryan on the Red Carpet at the Golden Globes. There are a few theories circulating for the reason behind this.
One of the most discussed is that Angelina Jolie is upset at Ryan for being persistent with his questions and later calling her ‘cold’ for not giving a proper interview on the red carpet a couple of years ago, when she was actually upset because her mother was dying at the time. If Jolie made the decision to attend, she would have done so knowing that she would be approached as she is intelligent enough to know that the media would not leave her alone if she hadn’t made them aware of the circumstances. It also assumes that she cares so much about Ryan that she’s still upset about it — I think he’s that important, but does she?
Other theories include Jolie and Pitt being upset at E! because one of their photographers overstepped the bounds a while ago, and Jolie and Pitt simply being rude or ‘snobbish’. When asked on his radio show, Ryan was fairly dismissive, “I don’t think Angelina thinks I’m that important. I don’t think I’m top of mind for Brad and Angelina. I honestly don’t believe they’d know who I was if I walked over there.”
Maybe Ryan’s right and there’s no real reason for it … or maybe Angelina caught sight of those photos of Ryan jet-skiing and didn’t trust herself to talk to him. Who knows? After all she is only human, and it’s no crazier than thinking she’s obsessed enough to hold a grudge this long. I think it’s a non-story, and apparently Ryan wasn’t supposed to be where he was when he approached them so probably they just weren’t expecting an ambush, but whatever the reason it’s great that Ryan’s getting so many column inches today.
